Meet Helen Carter, the author of this blog

Helen is a Humanistic Psychotherapist working in private practice in the South of England. She also teaches counselling and psychotherapy at the University of Brighton.

With a PhD in Exercise Physiology and MSc in Psychotherapy, Helen has a rare blend of expertise in the body and mind which she applies in her therapeutic work. Also a trained meditation instructor and Vajrayana Buddhist, Helen believes in the power of integrating Eastern and Western psychologies for emotional well-being.

Long feeling she had a book in her, Helen decided she would like to share her experiences of integrating Buddhist dharma and meditation in to her psychotherapeutic work. Coming from the mainstream Western model of Humanistic psychology, Helen had to find her own way of bringing East and West together - and she shares her story for those who might hold similar aspirations.

A couple of years ago, Helen came across the work of Nina Amir and her best selling book "Blog to Book". Already a regular blog writer, Helen became excited that blogging could be a way to get that book in her, out there.
